He received his Master of Arts degree in Professional Clinical Counseling from Liberty University in 2013 and has placed an emphasis on children and adolescents as well as adults struggling with a wide range of mental health and substance abuse related problems. He focuses most of his time working with children and adolescents who have problem behaviors, depression, anxiety, trauma, or who have experienced challenges adjusting to new situations in life. Brenton utilizes a team approach to therapy by working with the family, as he believes that a child’s environment is crucial to his or her development and ongoing mental health. Knowing that counseling may seem scary at first, but the intervention strategies utilized by Brenton will most likely make your child feel comfortable and more likely to engage early in the treatment process.
Brenton also enjoys working with adults who are facing depression, anxiety or have been overcome by addictions. While many people may experience these issues, he knows that every person will experience them differently. Brenton’s goal is to help you gain clarity with your challenges and create a functional plan to address the problems they bring into your life. He specializes in using Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Play Therapy techniques to assist in meeting individual treatment goals and tailors the treatment to the individual.

Currently telehealth onlyKimberly Bonta earned her Masters degree in Social Work from The Ohio State University and is an independently licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor and Licensed Social Worker. She began her career as a substance abuse counselor, working primarily with clients who were undergoing detoxification from drugs and alcohol. She later counseled individuals who had been released from the federal prison system.
In addition to working with clients who have faced substance abuse, Kimberly counsels clients with a broad-based, comprehensive approach, helping them to overcome depressive and anxiety symptoms in order to experience a more enjoyable and peace-filled life.
She is trained in cognitive behavioral therapy and solution focused therapy. In addition, she uses schema therapy as a tool to help clients determine the “life-traps” that may impact all aspects of their existence, including recovery from drug and alcohol dependence.

In-person and telehealth appointmentsMandy is believer in possibilities, and works to create a space where clients can explore what is most meaningful to their personal goals: processing, gaining insight, building resiliency, growth, change. Her clients range in age from young child, teen to adult, and each person’s experiences and perceptions are unique, and no two sessions are the same. Mandy’s approach is client-centered, down-to-earth, compassionate and practical, and she is grateful to be a guest in her clients’ lives.
She uses integrated treatment modalities (Brainspotting, Client-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral, Emotion-Focused, Humanistic, Interpersonal, Mind/Body, Mindfulness and Solution-Focused) and has found it’s better to have that flexibility in working with clients rather than strictly limiting any one approach. Mandy has a Master’s Degree in Social Work from The Ohio State University, and her experience has included community mental health, school-based therapy, clients with special needs and detailed assessments at a mental health and addiction treatment center offering inpatient, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient services.
She is experienced in collaborating with other professionals as needed from areas such as psychiatry, primary care, psychology / testing and school personnel. When not working, Mandy enjoy spending time with family and friends, being outside, reading and finding great local places to visit.

In-person and telehealth appointmentsLauren received her MSW from the Columbia University School of Social Work, where her concentration was in Health, Mental Health, and Disabilities with specific clinical practice in adult mood disorders and eating disorders.
Lauren specializes in treating adolescents and adults coping with mood disorders including depression, postpartum depression, anxiety, bipolar, schizophrenia, and trauma. She also works with individuals and families focusing issues on the eating disorder spectrum.
Lauren has comprehensive training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and has led both group and individual sessions with individuals and families. She has held clinical positions at universities, outpatient counseling centers, and partial and inpatient hospitalization programs.

In-person and telehealth appointmentEmily is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and a Registered Play Therapist (RPT). She works with children and adolescents who have a history of trauma, whether that involves grief, disabilities or attachment wounds. She has helped foster and adopted children and their families work through significant adjustment concerns, educating them on the attachment process and navigating them toward healthy bonded relationships.
Behavioral concerns and defiance are also areas of specialty for Emily. She has worked closely with schools and parents/caregivers to help set children up for success emotionally in order to have them succeed academically. Seeing children develop self-control and grow in confidence sets them up for a healthy adulthood.
Emily has also served as a job coach for individuals with cognitive and physical disabilities. She uses a modeling and teaching approach to help these young people develop skills to create a sense of independence.
Emily believes in the importance of creating a safe and caring environment for each client and strives to form a positive alliance with both the child and parent/caregiver. She tailors each session to fit the client’s needs and personality.

She has worked with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, disruptive behaviors, trauma, relationship issues, substance abuse, ADD, and ADHD. Sherri specializes in working with children, adolescents, young adults, and parents who want to help their children reach their highest potential. Her goal is to help families achieve a more harmonious and happy life.
Sherri has extensive training in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Traumatic events can cover a wide range from sexual abuse, physical/verbal abuse, and the loss of loved ones. CBT is used to help process past trauma. She uses a therapeutic approach that allows her to adapt her sessions to suit the specific needs of the individual and/or family. Her sessions may include CBT, trauma-focused CBT, play therapy, motivational interviewing, and EMDR therapy which focuses on relieving psychological stress or trauma. She has specific experience within schools, helping adolescents with substance abuse issues. Her work includes prevention, and individual/family therapy to help deal with the underlying issues.
Sherri has a strong passion for helping children. Her goal is to help them reach their potential and lead happier and more productive lives. Whether it is working with the child or integrating other family members into the sessions, she strives to help them achieve a plan that will guide them into the future.

In-person and telehealth appointmentsKevin has been providing professional counseling services to individuals, couples and families for the past 15 years. He received a Master of Arts in Clinical Pastoral Counseling and a Master of Divinity from Ashland Theological Seminary.
Kevin has worked extensively with couples, whether that involves preparing them for marriage, or working through the challenges couples face. He has additional training in helping couples recover from infidelity and concerns unique to men. Kevin also specializes in working with individuals who are survivors of recent, and/or chronic, trauma. With the combination of his clinical and pastoral training, Kevin seeks to interweave solid clinical practice with spiritual growth as he walks with clients through the healing process.
In addition to being an Independently Licensed Counselor with Supervisory status in Ohio, he serves as the pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Johnstown, northeast of Columbus.

Joel is trained and experienced to provide services for a number of different problems people face in their relationships or as individuals. Joe is a licensed Independent Marriage and Family Therapist (IMFT) with a Supervisor designation in the state of Ohio, and a Clinical Fellow of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). He graduated from Oberlin College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, and Northwestern University with a Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Joel has been practicing since 2008, and he looks forward to working alongside his clients on a daily basis. She has experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults in an outpatient setting including home, school, and office based services. Shannon has worked with a wide age range of individuals ranging from preschoolers to college-aged students.
Shannon is enthusiastic and passionate about working with children and adolescents and enjoys bringing that energy and excitement into the counseling sessions. She prioritizes creating a strong therapeutic relationship by using a non-judgmental approach with all of her clients. She believes that creating a safe space in her sessions is the key to creating lasting change. Shannon has experience treating a variety of mental health conditions including Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, PTSD, ODD, anger management, behavioral issues, trauma, and family relational issues. Shannon uses interventions from a variety of evidence-based treatments including CBT, Mindfulness, Play Therapy, Trauma- Focused CBT, and Strengths Based Therapy.

In-person and telehealth appointmentsCarly Habenschuss, MA, LPCC (she/her/hers) cherishes the honest and authentic conversations and therapeutic relationships she hopes to foster with each of her clients. For the past several years she has counseled adolescents, adults, couples and families and has experience in high school, college and private practice settings. She uses an integrative approach that is strengths-based and person-centered, and draws from reality therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), interpersonal process, and feminist, queer humanist, and existential theories. She strives to foster a safe, affirming and supportive therapeutic environment, and views therapy as a collaborative process in which the client is the expert.
Carly has experience in working with a variety of concerns, including but not limited to multicultural identity, women’s and parenting issues, LGBTQ+ issues (particularly with the TGNC community), identity development and concerns, anxiety, trauma, and family of origin issues. Carly earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling from the nationally ranked Ohio State University counselor education program. She also holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Communication and French Studies with a minor in Sexuality Studies.
